Thank you to everyone that gave generously to our annual Christmas Angel Tree! Once again, we were able to provide Christmas for the homeless at Faith Rescue Mission and to special children at the Children’s Specialty Center. Your thoughtfulness goes a long way!

Sheriff’s Office Recognitions

Throughout the year, we commend those that go above and beyond the call of duty. This year we recognized the following:

Deputy of the Year/Deputy of the First Quarter Sgt. D. Alford

Our 2019 Deputy of the Year AND Deputy of the First Quarter was Sgt. D. Alford. Sgt. Alford was commended for apprehending two Murder/Robbery suspects out of Louisiana after a vehicle pursuit that later turned into a foot pursuit. Sgt. Alford’s impeccable judgment in apprehending the suspects justify his nomination for both, Deputy of the Year and Deputy of the First Quarter! Keep up the good work, Sgt!

Deputy of the Second Quarter Lt J. Douglass

Lt. J. Douglass was recognized for his diligence and attention in recognizing four suspects which lead to their capture after noticing them while off duty in a public establishment. Lt. Douglass’ attentiveness ultimately led to the suspects being charged with Burglary. Keep up the good work, Lt.!

Deputy of the Third Quarter Sgt. D. Talley

Sgt. D. Talley earned his commendation after recognizing a suspect wanted for felony warrants as well as federal charges out of another state. Due to Sgt. Talley’s keen eye, and his attention to detail, even after being faced with a very vague description of the suspect’s vehicle, earned him the recognition of Deputy of the Third Quarter. Congratulations Sgt. Talley!

Deputy of the Fourth Quarter Cpl. J. Shepherd

Cpl. J. Shepherd was recognized for his diligent work ethics in apprehending several suspects believed to be responsible for Murder as well as injury to two other citizens after the investigations began with only street names for the suspects. Cpl. Shepherd’s dedication and professionalism led to the arrests as well as solving a Burglary investigation. Thank you, Cpl. Shepherd for your work ethic and professionalism!

Sheriff’s Office Civilian of the Year Marla Hudgins

This year civilian Marla Hudgins received the honor of Sheriff Office Civilian of the Year! Ms. Hudgins has worked tireless hours managing and maintaining sex offenders’ information as well as identifying, tracking and locating absconded sex offenders. Thank you, Ms. Hudgins for a job well done!

Firearms Familiarization Course

Register NOW for our Firearms Familiarization Courses for 2020!

We know that learning how to protect yourself is very important in today’s world. The class is held at our Sheriff D.T. Marshall Firearms Training Center and is FREE to Montgomery County residents! The morning session is classroom instruction on firearm safety and firearm laws. The afternoon session allows citizens to practice shooting on our Firing Range for the remainder of the class (if you would like). All classes are under the instruction of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Range Master.

(prior to the course date)

• Complete an Application for the Course
