Trump wins GOP nomination for third straight time

On Tuesday, former President Donald J. Trump (R) clinched the Republican nomination for President of the United States after Republicans in the Georgia, Mississippi and Washington held their party primaries, and Hawaii held it's Republican caucuses. This is the third time in a row that Trump has won the Republican nomination for President of the United States.

The former President released a statement on Truth Social.

"It is my great honor to be representing the Republican Party as its Presidential Nominee," said President Trump. "Our Party is UNITED and STRONG, and fully understands that we are running against the Worst, Most Incompetent, Corrupt, and Destructive President in the History of the United States. Millions of people are invading our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions of other Countries. High Interest Rates and Inflation are choking our great middle class, and ALL, our Economy is bad, and our Stock Market is rising only because Polls are strongly indicating that we will WIN the Presidential Election of 2024. We are now, under Crooked Joe Biden, a Third World Nation, which uses the Injustice System to go after his political opponent, ME! But fear not, we will not fail, we will take back our once great Country, put AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN - GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE. November 5th will go down as the most important day in the history of our Country! GOD BLESS AMERICA."

Similarly, President Joseph R. Biden (D) clinched the Democratic nomination for President on Tuesday setting up a rematch of the two 2020 presidential nominees. That election was decided by less than 200,000 votes in the swing states of: Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Republicans are hoping to change that this time around.

Former State Representative Perry O Hooper Jr. was the 2016 Chair of the Trump Victory fund, and was one of the earliest endorsers of Trump in 2015.

"Now is the time for us to come together and unite," Hooper told the Alabama Gazette. "We had a lot of good candidates; but the people have spoken. Now is the time to come together and defeat Joe Biden – the worst President in American history.

Biden for his part delivered a state of the union speech on Thursday that was widely praised by the mainstream media. The Republican response by U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Alabama) on the other hand was widely attacked, even by some conservatives. Actress Scarlett Johansson lampooned Britt on Saturday Night Live for her speech. The week could not have gone better for Democrats; but the polling shows a different story. The polling shows that there was no SOTU bounce for Joe Biden. In fact, Trump appears well positioned at this point to return to office according to the latest polling.

In the Real Clear Politics running averages Trump leads Biden in Wisconsin 46.4 percent to 45.4 (Trump +1.0). Trump leads Biden in Arizona 47.8 to 42.6 (Trump +5.2). Trump leads Biden in Georgia 49.4 to 43.7 (Trump +5.7). Trump leads Biden in Michigan 46.2 to 42.6 (Trump +3.6). Trump leads Biden in Pennsylvania 46.2 to 45.6 (Trump +0.6). Trump leads Biden in North Carolina 49.3 to 43.8 (Trump +5.5). Trump leads Biden in Nevada 47.8 to 40.8 (Trump +7.0).

A lot can happen between now and November; but it is increasingly likely that Trump will be the next President of the United States.
