Libertarian political candidate and retired Auburn University economic professor John Sophocleus recently joined the Brandon and Christopher Show podcast.
Sophocleus said that it is far too early to draw any conclusions about the effectiveness of President Donald J. Trump's (R) economic policies.
Sopholcleus warned that high tariffs could lead to inflation; but that this is too early in the process to be making judgements about the effectiveness (or not) of President Trump's tariff hikes.
Sophocleus expressed skepticism that local and state governments can "grow jobs" and said that a better policy to offering incentives would be to lower taxes.
Sophocleus is a former Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senate (2024) and Governor (2002).
The Brandon and Christopher show is hosted by Alabama Gazette lead reporter and content manager Brandon Moseley and Alabama Political Contributor Christopher Peeks.
