Alabama Associated General Contractors endorse Christina Woerner McInnis for Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries

June 23, 2025 - ORANGE BEACH, AL - The Alabama Associated General Contractors (AGC), one of the state's leading organizations representing construction and infrastructure professionals, has officially endorsed Christina Woerner McInnis for the Republican nomination for Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.

The AGC praised McInnis for her strong business acumen, agricultural roots, and her alignment with Alabama's job-creating industries.

Billy Norrell is the Chief Executive Officer of the Alabama AGC.

"We are excited to support Christina Woerner McInnis for Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries," said CEO Norrell. "Her family business background and her connection to our industry played an important role in this decision. We look forward to having her meet the members of our organization. They will see what we saw when deciding to endorse Christina for this position."

McInnis is a fifth-generation farmer from Baldwin County. She was raised in the Woerner family, owners of one of the largest sod farms in the United States and nationally recognized leaders in turfgrass production. She has carried forward that legacy through her own entrepreneurial work, founding AgriTech Corp and launching SoilKit, a tool that simplifies soil health testing for landowners and professionals.

"I'm honored to receive the support of the Alabama AGC," said McInnis. "Alabama's agriculture and construction sectors go hand-in-hand when it comes to growing our rural economy and building for the future. I'm proud of my family's legacy, and I'm committed to protecting Alabama farmland and helping our farmers thrive."

McInnis also emphasized her dedication to getting more Alabama-grown food onto the plates of families and children across the state.

"We must do more to support farm-to-table efforts and healthy eating in our schools and communities," she added. "As Commissioner, I'll work to ensure Alabama agriculture isn't just growing, it's feeding our families."

The McInnis campaign said that it continues to gain momentum, with support from farmers, small business owners, and industry leaders across the state.

Her platform is focused on protecting Alabama's farmland, reducing regulatory burdens for agribusinesses, and investing in the infrastructure and supply chains that support Alabama's agriculture and industry.

Christina and her husband, Timothy, live in Orange Beach, where they are raising their four children.

McInnis recently joined the Brandon and Christopher Show Podcast to update us on her campaign and platform.
