The unofficial results are as follows:

Based on the preliminary results, Matt Woods has won the Special General Election and will serve as the next State Senator for District 5.
Alabama Republican Party Communications Director Jeannie Burniston released the following statement:
"Congratulations to Senator-elect Matt Woods on tonight's victory. During his time in the House of Representatives, Matt has been a consistent fighter for conservative values and protecting Alabama families. From championing the REACH Act, which gives adults another pathway to earn a high school diploma, to passing the Alabama Child Protection Act, which criminalizes the use of AI to generate child pornography-Matt Woods has proven he's serious about getting results. We're excited to see his continued leadership and impact in the Alabama Senate."
This seat became vacant earlier this year when former Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Reed resigned to join Governor Kay Ivey's cabinet as her Senior Advisor on Workforce Transformation, where he is overseeing the transition of the Alabama Department of Labor into the Department of Workforce.
* Editorial Note - Rep. Matt Woods' election to the Senate means that his House seat now becomes vacant. Governor Kay Ivey will set the dates for qualifying for the vacancy in HD13.
