June 12, 2025, TEHRAN, Iran – The Israeli Air Force rained bombs down on Iran. Israel is seeking to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities before they can develop nuclear weapons. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement that the U.S. is not involved in the attack.

Alabama leaders expressed their support for the daring Israeli war effort.

Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL04) said on X, "Israel has a right to defend itself from those who wish it harm and its extinction. And there is no greater threat to Israel than the prospect of a nuclear armed Iran. These strikes tonight come not because of Israel but because of the path Iran has chosen. Years of appeasement."

Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth (R) said on X, "Israel is our strongest Middle Eastern ally, and we stand with them as they fight Palestinian Hamas terrorists and defend themselves against enemies like Iran. I trust President Trump and Secretary Rubio will protect our U.S. interests. Let us all pray for Israel and for peace."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that the U.S. was not involved in Israeli strikes inside Iran.

"Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran," said Secretary of State Rubio. "We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region."

The U.S. was warned that this was coming Rubio admitted.

"Israel advised us that they believe this action was necessary for its self-defense," Rubio said. "President Trump and the Administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel."

Irael is reportedly targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites.

The Trump administration has been working for weeks to get the Iranian regime to agree to a deal to give up their nuclear program.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement it "launched a preemptive, precise, combined offensive to strike Iran's nuclear program" and that the strikes were "on dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in different areas of Iran."

"Today, Iran is closer than ever to obtaining a nuclear weapon," the IDF said. "Weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the Iranian regime are an existential threat to the State of Israel and to the wider world. The State of Israel has no choice but to fulfill the obligation to act in defense of its citizens and will continue to do so everywhere it is required to do so, as we have done in the past."
