Business Council of Alabama Endorses Tommy Tuberville for Governor

June 30, 2025 - MONTGOMERY, AL - The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) has officially endorsed U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville in his campaign for governor, marking a significant boost for the Republican frontrunner as the 2026 election cycle gains momentum. The endorsement was announced by ProgressPAC, BCA's political affiliate, following a unanimous vote by its board of directors.

In a statement, BCA President and CEO Helena Duncan praised Tuberville's record on economic development, workforce training, and regulatory reform.

"Senator Tuberville has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to Alabama's business community-from workforce development and education to infrastructure and economic competitiveness," Duncan said. "His vision for Alabama's future aligns with our mission to make this state the best place to live, work, and do business."

A Pro-Business Platform

Tuberville, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 2021 and previously coached Auburn University's football team, has built his gubernatorial campaign around economic growth, deregulation, and conservative leadership. He has frequently cited his background as a small business owner and his efforts in Washington to roll back federal regulations that he says stifle job creation.

Gary Smith, Chairman of ProgressPAC and President & CEO of PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, emphasized the importance of Tuberville's leadership in the years ahead.

"ProgressPAC supports candidates who are committed to economic growth and fostering a business climate where job creators can thrive," Smith said. "Senator Tuberville brings a record of public service and a commitment to the core issues that impact Alabama businesses every day."

Broadening Support

The BCA endorsement adds to a growing list of business and political leaders backing Tuberville's bid. He has already secured endorsements from Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, U.S. Senator Katie Britt, and several industry groups including Manufacture Alabama and the Alabama Forestry Association.

With the Republican primary set for May 26, 2026, Tuberville is positioning himself as the candidate best equipped to lead Alabama through a period of economic transition and population growth.
