September 27, 2025 - College Station, TX – The Auburn University Tigers football team lost to Texas A&M by the score of 10 to 16. The Tigers' offensive struggles continued for the second straight week. The defense kept getting stops and giving the offense possessions. They just couldn't do anything with the opportunities.
Texas A&M ran the ball hard. Running back Le'Veon Moss had an impressive 139 yards rushing for the Aggies and a touchdown including a 38-yard burst to set up the opening score.
Texas A&M Quarterback Marcel Reed had 207 passing yards and Aggies receiver KC Concepcion had seven receptions for 113 receiving yards.
A&M held Auburn to just 155 yards of total offense. The one Auburn touchdown came after a 70 yard interception return giving the offense the ball at the two yard line. Auburn Quarterback Jackson Arnold then rushed it in for the lone Auburn TD of the day. Arnold had just 124 passing yards on the day and the running game was effectively nonexistent. Auburn punted the ball nine times on the day. Auburn went 0 for 12 on third down.
Trailing 10 to 16 the Auburn offense was so inept that they punted the ball from deep in Auburn territory with 2:27 left to play. In an incredible effort the Auburn defense forced Georgia 3 and out using only two of Auburn's timeouts. Auburn got the ball back with 2:00 minutes left to play and still couldn't do anything with it – the final Auburn possession ending with an Arnold sack.
This was the second straight week where the Auburn offense underperformed badly. The line gave up 10 sacks and had just 53 rushing yards against Oklahoma. Against Texas A&M the line gave up 7 sacks, numerous hurries, and just 51 yards of rushing.
Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze acknowledged that inadequacies of the Auburn offense against A&M.
"We couldn't get into any rhythm. Credit to them - they were disruptive up front and we didn't respond the way we needed to," said Freeze.
Freeze said that the team needs to do better.
"We've got to coach better and play better," said Freeze. "That's on all of us. I didn't think we handled their pressure well, and that starts with me."
Freeze is in his third season with the Tigers. He has a 14 and 17 record at Auburn – 5 and 13 in the SEC. Auburn has not had a seven (or more) season since 2019.
The Georgia vs. Auburn game is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama. Kickoff time is currently TBD, but it's expected to be an evening matchup.
