"Jerry Carl will represent the needs of the agricultural community well in Washington," said Steve Dunn, president of the Geneva County Farmers Federation. "He is a true public servant who will carry our voice to D.C. and ensure it is heard."

"Jerry Carl is a true public servant and one with a track record of success in serving the people of this district," said Art Sessions, president of the Mobile County Farmers Federation. Carl attended Lake City Community College (now Florida Gateway College) before returning to Mobile to start a business. His career was in sales with various companies before starting Carl and Associates, a management group. He later founded Cricket and Butterfly LLC, a lumber and timber business.

Carl served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2021 to 2025. During the 118th Congress, he served on the powerful Committee on Appropriations as a member of the Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies. He previously served on the Mobile County Commission, where he was elected president by his peers. Carl was defeated in the Republican primary by Congressman Barry Moore (R-Enterprise).

"I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the Farmers Federation and Alabama's outstanding farm community," said Carl. "Our farmers represent the very backbone of this nation - men and women whose hard work and dedication sustain our way of life."

Carl and his wife, Tina, have two children and three grandchildren.

Carl faces state Rep. Rhett Marquez (R-Enterprise) in the May 19, 2026 Republican primary.

The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state's largest farm organization with more than 360,000 member families. It uses a true grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Federation boards of directors for local elections.
