Birmingham, Ala. - October 2025 - Republican Attorney General candidate Katherine Robertson has secured a key endorsement in her bid to become Alabama's next top law enforcement official. Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon announced his support for Robertson this week, adding to a growing coalition of law enforcement leaders backing her campaign.
Sheriff Shearon praised Robertson's leadership and collaborative approach, stating, "The relationship between law enforcement and the AG's Office has never been better. Katherine deserves a great deal of credit for that. She is a proven team player and has the humility of a true leader."
Robertson, who currently serves in the Attorney General's Office, responded with gratitude. "I am deeply honored to receive Sheriff Shearon's endorsement," she said. "His trust reflects my unwavering commitment to supporting our law enforcement officers and ensuring Alabama remains a safe place for families. Together, we will continue to uphold the rule of law and protect our state from the dangerous policies of the radical left."
The endorsement from Sheriff Shearon adds momentum to Robertson's campaign, which has emphasized her experience in the AG's Office, her record of supporting law enforcement, and her pledge to defend Alabama families. With a platform focused on public safety and conservative legal principles, Robertson is positioning herself as a candidate ready to lead on day one.
Robertson faces a crowded GOP primary field that includes: former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey.
The Republican primary is on May 19, 2026.
