Hudson Edges Ahead in Tight GOP Primary Poll

October 17, 2025 - MOODY, AL - A new poll released by Quantus Insights shows Jared Hudson narrowly leading Alabama's Republican primary field, capturing 27% of support among likely GOP voters. Attorney General Steve Marshall trails closely with 24%, setting the stage for a competitive and potentially volatile race.

The poll, conducted statewide this week, reflects early voter sentiment as candidates sharpen their messaging ahead of the 2026 election cycle.

Poll Breakdown – GOP Primary Preferences

• Jared Hudson – 27%

• Steve Marshall – 24%

• Barry Moore – 9%

• Morgan Murphy – 2%

• Rodney Walker – 2%

• Undecided/Other – 36%

Hudson, a Navy SEAL veteran and founder of The Covenant Rescue Group, has built momentum through grassroots outreach and faith-based advocacy. Marshall, Alabama's sitting Attorney General, remains a formidable contender with strong name recognition and a record of high-profile legal action.

Congressman Barry Moore holds 9%, while Morgan Murphy and Rodney Walker each register 2%. Notably, 36% of respondents remain undecided, leaving room for dramatic shifts as the campaign intensifies.

Strategic Implications

In the 2022 race between Katie Britt, Mo Brooks, and Mike Durant the polls were wildly erratic with all three of the candidates leading and being in third place as voter responses changed with each new development or major ad campaign.

The polls was heavily weighted toward seniors with 49% of the respondents being over age 65, 39% being age 45 to 64, 7% being age 30 to 44, and 5% being age 18 to 29. 49% were from central Alabama, 27% from North Alabama, and 24% in South Alabama. 55% were male and 45% female. 85% were White. 15% were non-White.

The Republican primary is on May 19,2026.
