Tim Wadsworth Seeks Re-Election to Represent Alabama House District 14

House District 14 – Incumbent State Representative Tim Wadsworth announced today his candidacy for re-election to serve Alabama's House District 14. Since first taking office in 2014, Rep. Wadsworth has worked to deliver effective conservative leadership, strengthen local communities, and bring home state resources to support schools, local nonprofits, volunteer fire departments, infrastructure, and healthcare throughout District 14.

"I remain committed to the people of Winston, Cullman, Walker, and Jefferson counties," said Wadsworth. "Over the past eleven years, I have made your concerns a priority in Montgomery by lowering the grocery tax, supporting our first responders, improving local infrastructure, and securing funds for our schools. Our work is not finished, however. I ask for the privilege to continue serving and fighting for the values we share."

A Record of Service

• Secured healthcare facilities in Arley, Double Springs, and Nauvoo and helped support ambulance services for Winston County.

• Secured public school funding for West Point, Meek, Addison, Lynn, Double Springs, Parrish, Oakland, Carbon Hill, Sumiton, Corner. and Bagley.

• Secured funding for Looney's Amphitheater Complex and Cultural Center in Double Springs

• Formed 501(c)(3) organizations for community groups in Townley, Carbon Hill, Cordova, Ashridge, and Winston Rescue so they can work to secure grants

• Raised the standard deduction for joint filers and single filers, which offered immediate relief to working families

• Lowered the State sales tax on food from 4% to 2% with an ultimate goal of 0%.

• Raised the exemption for Business Personal Property from no exemption to $100,000 and eliminated the minimum tax from $110 to $0 for corporations and limited liability companies

• Delivered significant State of Alabama investment in local infrastructure, including improvements to I-22 and safety upgrades to Duncan Bridge

• Secured funding and grant support for the Wallace State Community Learning Center, volunteer fire departments, and rural services throughout the district.

Leadership and Community

Representative Wadsworth holds degrees in accounting and law and is a practicing attorney licensed in Alabama and Mississippi. He serves as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and is a member of other key legislative committees including Public Safety & Homeland Security, Children & Senior Advocacy, Jefferson County Legislation, and Local Legislation.

Tim Wadsworth is joined in service by his wife, Dr. Nicole Jones Wadsworth, who is a business and economic development leader and a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama. Together they share a commitment to community service, conservative principles, and faith. Their children are often seen alongside them at civic events, which highlights the emphasis they place on family and public service.
