"The Greatest Gift of Love"

With the most popular holiday just around the corner, it seems like everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit. Stores are lining their aisles with Christmas goodies and decor, TV shows have switched to the theme of giving and love, and radio stations are playing beloved Christmas music. And why shouldn't they? After all, it is that time of year…the meaning of the season, right?

This thought makes me think about the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas isn't just about giving or feeling loved, but it was about true love. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ, the Savior who came into this world to die... for everyone. Jesus was God's gift not to the deserving, not to the Jews, but to everyone.

So, I submit that Christmas should be spelled L-O-V-E. After all, this is the true Christmas message. Right?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

That’s right, my friends! God gave us the gift of love on Christmas Day.

It is truly said, “What the world needs now is love.” I need it. You need it. Your spouse needs it. Your child needs it. An elderly man or woman sitting alone in a nursing home today needs it. A child abandoned and alone in a children’s home needs it, too. Simply put, we all need love!

God sent His one and only Son as the Savior. He knew we couldn’t save ourselves. So, He sent His Son to be born in a manger, to die on a cross, to rise again into glory, and to come again to redeem His church.

Today, let us remember the true meaning of Christmas... Peace on Earth, Good will toward Men, for the Savior has come to show us how to love, and to give us the greatest gift of love.

Merry Christmas & Many Blessings!
