"Healthy Boundaries"

Recently, I read a book about setting healthy boundaries. Well, I actually listened to it. Who has the time to sit down and just read these days. This book got me to thinking about boundaries and walls. I feel like there something that needs to said.

Not all boundaries are bad. We live in a world that pushes limitless freedom. Do what you want to do. Be who you want to be. Live your life how ever you want to live it on your terms. There are no restrictions.

And yet, how has that worked out for us? Because I look around and see lots of failure and pain from not having boundaries. Mainstream media loves to push this limitless freedom because they do not have to deal with the consequences and the fallout from opening pandora’s box. In fact, they actually make more money when things eventually go south. They can write solation headlines and get more clicks.

God warns about this in the Bible. Through Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 10, he says that everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. Let me says that another way. Everything is permissible, but not everything builds up.

“For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.” 1 Corinthians 10:1

What does He mean by that? He means that you have the freewill…you have the ability to do whatever you want but is it actually beneficial and for your own good…and maybe boundaries and walls are good.

So I want to encourage you…if you come across a situation in life where boundaries or walls are set up, then maybe it is a good thing. Boundaries and walls are not restrictions. They just may be benefits for your ultimate success.

Many Blessings!
