Alabama Republican Party calls on Biden to apologize for proclaiming Easter as transgender day

On Monday, Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl issued a statement denouncing President Joseph R. Biden's proclamation prioritizing Transgender Visibility Day over Easter Sunday.

"Ronald Reagan once said, '...without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure," said Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl. "'If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.' This weekend it became clear that the values of the Biden Administration are not in line with the values of Christianity. President Joe Biden declared that yesterday, Resurrection Day, would be celebrated as 'Transgender Day of Visibility.' Joe Biden didn't forget that we are a nation under God, or that March 31st was Easter Sunday. Instead, he chose to prioritize Transgender Day of Visibility over Easter Sunday, laughing in the face of God and disrespecting the holiest of Christian holidays."

"The Alabama Republican Party stands in opposition to the Biden Administration's declaration," Wahl continued. "Instead, we agree with Former President Trump's statement: 'We remember the suffering and death of God's only son and His glorious resurrection... On Easter Sunday, we proclaim with joy, Christ is Risen.'"

"The United States of America is a nation founded on faith," Wahl added. "The Declaration of Independence clearly states that our rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness come from our Creator. If we forsake that understanding, the next logical step is that we will lose those fundamental rights and freedoms that make us Americans. The Alabama Republican Party calls on the Biden Administration to humble themselves and apologize to Christians across America for the disrespect shown to the Christian faith this Easter weekend."

The President also banned religious themes in a Easter egg decorating contest for the children of National Guard members.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) released a statement on Facebook condemning the President's anti-faith actions over the Easter holiday.

"The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter - which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ," said Speaker Johnson. "Banning sacred truth and tradition-while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as "Transgender Day"-is outrageous and abhorrent. The American people are taking note."

Biden was elected in 2020 and is the nominee apparent of the Democratic Party for President in the 2024 Presidential election.
