Donald Trump says lets "Make America Pray again" as he promotes Bibles

Former President Donald J. Trump (R) has partners with County music performer and songwriter Lee Greenwood on a new project – selling Bible. Greenwood dominated the country music charts in the 1980s and 1990s, but no song hit it bigger than his 'God Bless the USA' which has become almost another national anthem along with the 'Star Spangled Banner' and 'God Bless America.'

Greenwood – now age 81 – has printed a new King James Version Bible that includes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the lyrics to 'God Bless the USA.'

Greenwood is marketing this Bible as, "The God Bless the USA Bible," and is encouraging every American to make this version of the Bible their new family Bible if they don't already have one.

Now Trump has appeared in a video promoting Greenwood's 'God Bless the USA' Bible.

"Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from our country and we need to bring them back," Trump said.

"Christians are under siege," Trump added. "We must defend God in the public square."

"Our Founding Fathers did a great thing when they built this country on Judeo-Christian principles," Trump stated.

Trump described the Bible as, "My favorite book."

The former President urged everyone to get the 'God Bless the USA' Bible for their homes and for Americans to "Make America pray again."

Greenwood has visited Alabama where he has shared his Bible with former State Rep. Perry O. Hooper Jr, Church of the Highlands Montgomery Pastor Chris Erwin and his wife - Rachel, and others. He has also shared a Bible with former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn.

"Holding steadfast to our heritage and the guiding light that has illuminated the path of our nation, this special edition Bible is more than a book: it is a beacon of our enduring values and faith," said Hooper in a statement. "It's easy-to-read, large print, and slim design invited readers to bring the Word of God into every aspect of their lives, reenforcing the divine principles that have guided countless leaders and citizens alike. Enriched with seminal American documents, including the handwritten chorus to 'God Bless the USA' by Lee Greenwood, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Pledge of Allegiance, this Bible embodies the sacred bond between our faith and our patriotic duty."

Trump has already wrapped up the Republican nomination for President of the United States having amassed enough delegates to get the GOP nomination for the third consecutive time. He is also presently fighting a fraud lawsuit by the state of New York as well as 150 indictments in four different jurisdictions so one would think that his plate is full; but he still took time to help Greenwood promote this project.

According to tradition, Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible (the Torah or Pentateuch) somewhere around 1500 to 1400 B.C. Moses's authorship is now disputed by some scholars. The version of the Torah that we have passed down to us was a translation of this now lost earlier work prepared by the scribe Ezra around 500 B.C. Over the centuries additional religious texts were added to the scriptural canon of the Jewish people so that the "Old Testament" we have today existed in Roman occupied Israel before Jesus's birth. Christian writers wrote the Gospels in the decades after Jesus's death on the cross. The Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John were accepted as the authentic accounts of Jesus's life and ministry and became official parts of Christian canon. There were also at least 12 Gospels that were not included in canon as being unorthodox for various reasons. The four Gospels, the letters of Peter, Paul, James, John, Hebrews, the Acts of the Apostles, Jude, and Revelation became the 27 books of the New Testament. The books of the Bible were originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Saint Jerome translated all of the books of the Bible into Latin in 382 AD. That translation became the Vulgate and became the standard translation for over a millennium in the western Church. English did not exist as a spoken language at that time. There remains disagreement between Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and Ethiopian Christians over the official list of texts in the Bible. The Catholic Bible has 73 books, most of the Eastern Orthodox have 81, the Ethiopian Orthodox have their own list of 81, and most of the Protestant sects have 66. The King James version (KJV) was translated on the order of the English King James I in 1604. Scholars dispute which translation is the most accurate even to this day.
