The people's voice of reason
The University of Alabama men's basketball team defeated the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night in the NCAA tournament. This is the first time in the history of the program for the Tide to advance to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.
Alabama started off slow. At one point the Tide trailed by 13 points. The 2023/2024 Tide is known for its ability to score a lot of points and when they turned it on - they really turned it on and Bama led most of the second half. Alabama made 16 3-point shots.
The Tide prevailed 89 to 82.
Mark Sears led the way with 24 points and 3 rebounds. Sears has scored more points this season than any Tide player in the history of the school in a single season. Every made shot only adds to his all-time record. Sears was named the most valuable player of this tournament bracket. Nick Pringle had a stellar all-around game with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Jarin Stevenson scored 19 points and had 3 rebounds from off the bench. Aaron Estrada had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Grant Nelson contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds. Rylan Griffen scored 13 points, added four rebounds, and had 8 assists.
Nate Oats is the head Coach of the team.
"They've just been all about winning," Oats said. "I mean, nobody really cares who's scoring the points, and get a little frustrated and they just keep playing together. I mean, I've got multiple guys telling me to keep other guys in the game. And there's been no selfishness in this four-game run."
After the game NBA and Auburn basketball legend Charles Barley had to say "Roll Tide."
Alabama will play defending National Champion University of Connecticut in the first round of the final four in Phoenix.
