UAB defeated by San Diego

On Friday, the UAB men's basketball team lost in the NCAA tournament to San Diego State 65 to 69.

UAB ends their 23/24 season with a 23 and 12 record, an American Athletic Conference Championship, and an NCAA tournament appearance.

Efrem Johnson led UAB in the loss with 19 points and 3 rebounds. Eric Gaines scored 14 points and had 2 rebounds. Yaxel Lendeborg had 11 points and 7 rebounds.

San Diego State led throughout much of the game, but UAB was able to tie it up with about two and a half minutes left.

UAB head basketball Coach Andy Kennedy said on X, "17th yr as a HC ... Never had a Team who "grew" More from start 2 finish than this Special Group. Sorry 2 see it end but Thankful to experience it w/them 🙌🏼🙏🏼💚."
