Auburn defeats Missouri in baseball

Auburn defeated Missouri Sunday afternoon at Taylor Stadium in Missouri 9 to 7.

Auburn hit really well with multiple home runs. The Tigers had 37 hits in the three game series.

Auburn is coached by Butch Thompson.

"It is (nice), especially to bounce back after a tough game Friday night," Thompson told the reporter for Auburn athletics . "A couple of challenges that we have are still there, but we played enough offense all weekend."

Auburn's season has been very disappointing this year, but the win Sunday night got the Tigers back to .500 at 25 and 25 and improves their record in the Southeastern Conference to 6 and 21.

Centerfielder Chris Stanfield had two hits in his five at bats but scored twice and had three RBIs.

Third baseman Deric Fabian had three hits in four at bats. He scored twice and had 3 RBIs.

Christian Herberholz pitched five innings for the Tigers, giving up just four hits and no runs. This was his first SEC start of the season.

Auburn's Tuesday game Samford has been canceled due to the expectation of bad weather.

The SEC Tournament will be May 21 – 26 at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, AL.
