Trump found guilty on all 34 counts

On Wednesday, the New York City jury has found former President Donald J. Trump (R) guilty on all 34 counts in the hush money trial.

The jury found Trump guilty in the first-ever criminal trial of a former president.

Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment his ex-fixer, Michael Cohen, made to former porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election to keep her secret liaison with Trump a prior secret until after the 2016 votes were cast.

Trump denies the affair and pleaded not guilty.

Trump did not take the stand in his own defense – a decision that now looks to have been a tactical error.

Cohen was grilled on the stand by the defense team; but apparently the 12 jurors all believed his testimony.

Todd Blanche, Trump's lead attorney, asked the court for a judgment of acquittal A motion that is not likely.

Trump, who has been beating President Joseph R. Biden, handily in the swing state polls is still likely to be the Republican nominee when the GOP delegates meet for its August convention.

President Trump is expected to appeal the verdict.
