Troy comes from behind to win in Sun Belt Conference Tournament

On Wednesday, Troy University baseball came back from 0-4 in the fourth inning against Appalachian State to win their opening tournament game 6 to 5.

The win means that Troy advances in the Sun Belt Conference tournament which is now underway at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium.

The Trojans had a six run fifth inning after the slow start.

Troy did not get a hit on App State in the first four innings.

Brooks Bryan drove in the first run for Troy with a shot to right center.

Tremayne Cobb Jr., Kyle Mock and Aidan Gilroy then followed that up with singles to load the bases. Shane Lewis then got a walk which drove in the second run. Evan Kavanaugh hit a single to drive Lewis in for the Trojans to go up 5 to 4.

App State is 31-20-1; while Troy is 37 and 20.

Skyler Meade is the head Coach of the Trojans.

"Our team stayed composed and got the job done there in the eighth and Dill came in and was pretty nasty," said Coach Meade. "Overall, a good day for the Trojans, but we still have work to do."

The Trojans now face number two see Southern Mississippi on Thursday at 4 p.m.
