Barry Moore dismisses Biden order on border "as election season spin"

Last week President Joseph R. Biden (D) issued an executive order that would impose restrictions on border crossings is certain limits were exceeded. Congressman Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) dismissed Biden's executive order as "election season spin."

"Biden's "border security" executive order is nothing more than election season spin," Moore said on the social medial platform X. "He signed 94 executive orders to dismantle Trump's border policies. He could reinstate all of them right now - but he chooses not to."

After spending almost three and a half years allowing migrants to cross the border in unprecedented numbers as the administration has done everything possible to allow as many migrants to resettle in the United States as possible, the Biden Whitehouse is trying to appear to actually be doing something about the crisis on the southern border.

This is because of polling that shows a growing majority of Americans want strong action taken to deport illegal migrants. A recent poll shows that nearly two in three Americans support mass deportation of illegal immigrants.

62% of Americans back, "in principle, a new government program to deport all undocumented immigrants living in the US illegally."

Former President Donald Trump (R) has been using this growing dissatisfaction with Biden's border policies to hammer the President on the campaign trail.

Trump has promised to deliver the "largest mass deportation effort" in American history if he is reelected.

Since President Biden has been in office, over 7.2 million undocumented migrants have crossed into the US.

The Biden administration announced last week that it would bar asylum for undocumented migrants who cross into the country if illegal crossings if illegal crossings exceed 2,500 per day for seven consecutive days. There are numerous exceptions to that including for unaccompanied minors and anyone with a "reasonable fear" of harm in their home country. Even if this "crackdown" were fully enforced that would still allow at least 1.8 million asylum seekers into this country each and every year.

Barry Moore is in his second term representing Alabama's Second Congressional District. If he defeats his Democratic opponent in the fall, Moore will represent Alabama's First Congressional District after a federal court redistricted CD1 and CD2.
