Tuberville Under Attack: Another Cheap Hit Job from the Clueless Media

Bill Britt's latest hit piece in the Alabama Political Reporter isn't journalism-it's political hackery at its worst. It's a smear job aimed squarely at Senator Tommy Tuberville, and by extension, President Donald J. Trump and the America First movement. This piece isn't journalism, it's a hit job dressed up as an opinion column, and it's got all the hallmarks of a writer who's more interested in zingers than facts.

First off, Britt's has no sources. He leans on vague "multiple sources" and "one GOP insider" to prop up his claim that Tuberville's planning a 2026 governor run. Who are these sources? Nobody knows! Who is his GOP insider? They're as real as a unicorn until Britt names them or shows receipts. He's just tossing out gossip like its gospel, claiming Tuberville spilled his plans at a "private event" with donors. Where's the proof?

A recording? A guest lists. Anything? Nah, Britt's too busy painting Tuberville as a Florida beach bum sipping umbrella drinks to bother with evidence. It's lazy, and its what hacks do when they've got nothing. So, what if he is leaving the Senate to Serve as Governor is that a crime in Britt's world?

Then there's the Trump-bashing, which Britt shoehorns in like he's auditioning for CNN.

He insinuates Tuberville's disloyal for allegedly not telling President Trump about his governor ambitions, as if Britt's got a direct line to Mar-a-Lago. "Hard to believe President Trump would see that as an act of loyalty," he sneers. What's the basis for this? Zero. It's just Britt making stuff up to smear a MAGA stalwart and tie him to some imaginary betrayal of Trump. This is classic anti-MAGA fan fiction-throw shade at President Trump's allies to rile up the resistance crowd while pretending it's analysis.

He mocks Tuberville's residency, claiming he "barely lives in Alabama" and only got a driver's license in 2019. Okay, but Tuberville, an Arkansas native who coached in Miami, Mississippi, Texas, and Ohio, *chose* to make Alabama his home after his storied tenure as Auburn's head coach. This wasn't some random pitstop-Alabama became his adopted state, where he built deep ties and won the hearts of all Alabamians winning the Republican Primary with 60 percent of the vote against former Senator Jeff Sessions.

Britt's acting like Tuberville's a carpetbagger when voters clearly embraced him as one of their own. Britt's residency jab is just old news repackaged with sarcasm. And the dig about Tuberville not wanting to campaign or raise money? Pure speculation. Britt's got no data, no campaign finance reports, nothing-just his oversized gut telling him

Tuberville's lazy. That's not reporting; it's a Reddit thread with better grammar. The whole "Tuberville's bluffing" angle is another stretch. Britt once again quotes nameless "political operatives" saying Tuberville's governor talk is a poker move to "clear the field." Maybe! Or maybe Tuberville's genuinely considering it. Britt doesn't know-he's just picking the narrative that lets him call Tuberville a con artist. And the dig about Tuberville "abandoning" the Senate? Give me a break. The guy's got a year before the primary, and Britt's already writing his resignation letter. It's all drama, no substance.

Worst of all, Britt's sanctimonious "follow the money" line and the "praying" jab are just mean-spirited. He accuses Tuberville of running a "con" to raise cash, but where's the evidence of shady fundraising? Nowhere. And mocking Tuberville's faith-saying "even God's tired of being used as a campaign excuse"-is a low blow that's got no place in serious discourse. It's the kind of elitist sneer that plays well with purple hair types but

flops with actual Alabama voters.

Britt's piece isn't about informing; it's about settling scores. He's got an axe to grind with Coach Tuberville, a rock-solid MAGA senator who's been a thorn in the side of the establishment. Instead of engaging with Tuberville's record-his push for border security, his defense of Trump's agenda, or his fight against woke nonsense-Britt just slings mud and hopes it sticks. And the Trump shots? They're not even clever; they're just pandering to the anti-MAGA crowd. Britt knows that grassroots MAGA conservatives aren't reading the Alabama Political Reporter anyway.

If Britt wants to play pundit, fine, but at least bring some facts to the table. This editorial's a fumble of its own-sloppy, biased, and built on hot air. Senator Tuberville is out on the field winning for Alabama, while Britt's just whining from the sidelines.
