Gubernatorial candidate Ken McFeeters joins the Brandon and Christopher Show Podcast

Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken McFeeters recently joined the Brandon and Christopher Show (BCS) Podcast to discuss his campaign and his vision for Alabama.

McFeeters is running for Governor against popular U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Alabama) in the Republican primary. McFeeters accused Tuberville of being the "establishment" choice for Governor.

"We cannot continue to elect establishment candidates and expect anything to change," said McFeeters. "If we keep getting establishment candidates we are going to c

Tuberville was able to raise $11 million for his run for Senate in 2020 – when he defeated incumbent Senator Doug Jones (D-Alabama) – Tuberville was actually massively outspent by Jones. McFeeters predicted that Tuberville will be able to raise another $10 million for his gubernatorial campaign – Tuberville already raised $3 million in May. McFeeters interpreted this to mean that Washington and Montgomery powerbrokers were behind Tuberville's campaigns.

"He got $11 million to run the first time and they are giving him $10 million to run this time and for what?" said McFeeters. "He has got $21 million to run. Most of the federal folks in Washington D.C. are running his campaign. The deep state wants him to be Governor of Alabama." "D.C. should not select who is the Governor of Alabama."

McFeeters spoke at length about his view that the public schools in Alabama are not getting the job done.

"The people that are running our educational system is intentionally designed to give us"..."Complicit workers not critical thinkers," McFeeters said. "The folks who that are teaching our kids are vastly overrepresented on the liberal side because they have gone through not indoctrination camps but establishment-controlled teaching schools." "Its not working. We are not teaching our kids virtues and values."

"They don't teach you how to have a successful life in school, but they are not teaching what you need to succeed in life," continued McFeeters. "There are powers that be behind what is going on in our schools."

McFeeters said that to succeed in life, students need to understand and adopt values like hard work, discipline, sobriety, frugality, chastity, integrity, etc. and that is by design.

"The current governor is not doing it and past governors did not do it," McFeeters said. "They are intentionally leaving these kids without the discipline that they need." "If you have values and virtues, you are going to have a successful life."

McFeeters said that fixing education will not be accomplished by giving schools more money.

"We could do it a lot cheaper if we changed the hoops that you have to go through to become a teacher," McFeeters said. "If you have spent four to eight years in the military you are more qualified to teach values and virtues than someone coming right out of college. I would rather have my kids learning from someone coming out of the military and the values and virtues that the kids need to be learning."

McFeeters warned that Hollywood has intentionally promoted movies and television designed to undermine the teaching of values and virtues in our society and used the example of the movie 'Animal House' where the cool kids were the partying drunks and the jerks were the goods that studied and worked hard.

"The same people who control Hollywood, control our politicians," McFeeters said.

This society wide undermining of virtues and values leads to problems like poverty and crime McFeeters said.

"If we actually were teaching values and virtues in our schools we wouldn't need as much prisons," said McFeeters. The likelihood of going to prison is, "Fifty times higher if you are out of a single parent home."

McFeeters was critical of the medical marijuana network that the state is setting up where a state commission gives out licenses to businesses to grow, process, and dispense medical cannabis.

"When you give Montgomery power, they try to decide who controls the industry which produces more money to give to the politicians," said McFeeters. "The people down there are going to divide up the spoils and give it to the folks that support their campaigns."

McFeeters was asked if he would legalize cannabis if he were governor.

"Yes, I would," McFeeters replied. "I want the American people to be as free as possible, especially Alabamians."

McFeeters is supportive of school choice.

"I do like school choice," said McFeeters. "The problem are the kids where the parents don't care. The kids with good parents are going to get educated no matter what. Its those without supportive parents who are having problems and that is where the schools need to be stepping up."

McFeeters is an independent insurance agent. One issue in the insurance world that concerns McFeeters is a lucrative tax credit for insurance companies who are domiciled in the state. The two companies large enough to benefit from this credit are ALFA and State Farm. McFeeters has been a vocal opponent of this credit, which he claims gives those two insurers an unfair advantage.

"Prisons are paid for out of our general fund," said McFeeters. "The insurance premium tax is the largest contributor to our general fund. They have taken over almost half a billion from our general fund that could have gone to fund the prisons."

McFeeters said that ALFA and State Farm got the Legislature to give them tax credits for having buildings and employees in Alabama.

"It is the most insane, idiotic thing," said McFeeters. "You never hear about that because the media is owned by the same people who are paying our politicians."

"The folks who have the power in Montgomery are giving themselves the tax credits," said McFeeters. "You have to start making those folks pay their fair share."

McFeeters was asked how to address the overcrowding on the prison system.

"Teaching virtues and values in prisons, which is nothing they have never been taught, would help," would help the nonviolent offenders McFeeters said.

For the ones who have committed violent crimes, McFeeters had less sympathy.

"I don't like violent people who are hurting innocent people at all," McFeeters said suggesting that they can stay locked up.

McFeeters believes that the side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine are so severe that we should stop its use and he is particularly critical of Microsoft Founder Bill Gates – whose Foundation has been promoting vaccines around the world for over a decade.

"USAID through NGOs have funded the," efforts to vaccinate billions of people around that world and as a result they, "Have Sterilized a generation of third world young ladies." "We have basically paid for eugenics around the world with your tax dollars."

McFeeters said that the COVID-19, in addition to sterilizing many young women has caused Bell's palsy, myocarditis, and micro blood clots.

"It hurts lots of people," said McFeeters.

The Republican primary is on May 19, 2026. The winner of the Republican primary will then go on to face the winner of the Democratic primary in the November general election, Presently Chad "Chig" Martin is the only announced Democratic candidate for Governor.

The Brandon and Christopher Show Podcast (BCS) is cohosted by Alabama Gazette Lead Reporter and Content Manager Brandon Moseley and Alabama Political Contributor Christopher Peeks.
