Alabama's Secretary of State, Wes Allen, joins the ranks of those who have lived for half of a century on August 15th, 1975. And to celebrate his 50th birthday, Secretary of State, Wes Allen, is hosting a "Half a Hundred" birthday party and campaign kickoff on August 16th, 2025 at The Social, an event venue in downtown Troy, Alabama. The celebration will be held in the evening from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock and instead of birthday presents Secretary of State Wes Allen is requesting that people donate to his campaign for Lieutenant Governor at WesAllenforAlabama.com.
Secretary of State Wes Allen has already officially announced his intention to run for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama in the 2026 election. He has been serving the State of Alabama as Secretary of State since 2022. And prior to that time he served the 89th District of Alabama as their state legislator from 2018 until 2022. During his time as state legislator, Wesley Harrison Allen, made history as his father, Gerald Harrison Allen, was serving in the state senate at that time. Making Wes Allen and Gerald Allen the first father and son duo to serve in the state legislature at the same time. Indeed, both Wes Allen and Gerald Allen have a generational interest in state politics stemming from Wes Allen's grandfather's days as a four-term county commissioner.
Wes Allen also served the area of Troy, Alabama as a probate judge prior to being elected to the state legislature in 2018. While Wes Allen grew up in the Tuscaloosa area, he has been living in Troy, Alabama since he moved to Troy to pursue his Master's Degree at Troy University. Before pursuing his graduate degree, Wes Allen received his Bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama. And it was at The University of Alabama where Wes Allen met his wife, Cae Allen, a former majorette at The University of Alabama. He and his wife, Cae, have two children.
To date, a number of candidates have announced their intention to seek the Republican Party's nomination for Lieutenant Governor in Alabama including Wes Allen, Nicole Jones Wadsworth, Dean Odle, Patrick Bishop, George Childress, and the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries of Alabama – Rick Pate. With the current Lieutenant Governor of Alabama being Will Ainsworth, who will return to the private sector at the conclusion of his term.
