Senator Gerald Allen Announces Reelection Bid to Alabama State Senate

July 16, 2025 - TUSCALOOSA, AL - On Wednesday, Alabama State Senator Gerald Allen today officially announced his candidacy for reelection to the Alabama State Senate, pledging to continue championing the values and priorities of West Alabama. A lifelong conservative and dedicated public servant, Sen. Allen reaffirmed his commitment to growing Alabama's economy, defending conservative principles, and delivering strong, effective leadership for the communities he serves.

"I'm running for reelection because I believe in the people of West Alabama and the future of our great state and country," said Sen. Allen. "Over the years, we've made real progress - creating jobs, stabilizing the Education Trust fund, protecting our conservative values, and standing up for families and small businesses. But our work is not done. I remain committed to serving with honesty, integrity, and an unwavering dedication to the people of Alabama."

During his time in the Alabama Legislature, Sen. Allen has been a strong advocate for pro-growth policies, fiscal responsibility, and the protection of traditional values. He has supported legislation that has strengthened the state's economy, improved infrastructure, and ensured that rural communities have a strong voice in Montgomery.

As a trusted conservative leader, Sen. Allen has earned a reputation for being accessible to his constituents and responsive to their concerns. His record reflects a consistent dedication to limited government, personal responsibility, and preserving the rights and freedoms that matter most to Alabama families.

With a record rooted in results, Allen says he's ready to keep building on Alabama's momentum. "I'm running for reelection to continue protecting our conservative principles, growing our economy, and being a strong voice for West Alabama. I've spent my career fighting for our people, and I'm not done yet."

As a senator, Allen has worked to ensure that rural and underserved communities are not left behind, helping to secure critical funding for roads, schools, and broadband access across West Alabama. His leadership reflects a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Alabama families.

"I've always believed public service is about listening, learning, and leading with conviction," Allen added. "West Alabama deserves someone who shows up, fights hard, and keeps their word - that's exactly what I've done, and what I'll continue to do."

Gerald Allen has served the people of Alabama with distinction for over three decades. First elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 1994 and later to the State Senate in 2010, Sen. Allen has built a legacy of principled leadership and grassroots advocacy. A native of Tuscaloosa County, he is a proud husband, father, and grandfather. Allen is deeply involved in his local community and is known for his strong Christian faith, his love for Alabama, and his lifelong commitment to public service.

Allen was born and raised in Tuscaloosa. He graduated from Holt High School and then earned a degree from the University of Alabama. Allen and his wife Sheila Bailey Allen of Taylorville have been married for 53 years. They have three adult children - Wes, Kellie, and Jill. They have also been blessed with six grandchildren.
