Senator Katie Britt Discusses Epstein Files Transparency, Legislative Progress on ABC News Live

Senator Britt Highlights Bipartisan Efforts and Calls for Greater Accountability

July 31, 2025 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) appeared on ABC News Live's "Prime with Linsey Davis" to address pressing national issues, including the push for transparency surrounding the Epstein files and the merits of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

During her interview, Senator Britt emphasized the bipartisan momentum in Congress for providing the American public with answers about the high-profile Epstein case. "The Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously adopted an amendment to say that we want [the Epstein files] released to Congress. So I believe that people will get answers, the answers that they want, and we're looking forward to having that for the American people," she stated.

Senator Britt also commented on the political dynamics at play, pointing to a lack of action during the previous four years when Democrats held the majority. "Last time I checked, [Democrats] were in charge for the last four years, and I can't seem to find any of them that were speaking up or compelling their own DOJ or [the] president of their own party to do this very same thing. So, they don't have a lot of standing in my mind with regards to this," Britt remarked. She added, "However, I do know many Republicans who have been talking about this and looking for transparency for the American people. I'm going to work with those people to continue to try to provide that and believe the administration is as well."

Turning to legislative matters, Senator Britt highlighted the advantages of the One Big Beautiful Bill, underscoring its focus on border security, national defense, energy independence, and tax relief. "I think what you see right now is you have a lot of people that are trying to inject politics in this, but the facts are the facts. First off, we're going to have a secure border. We're going to have a strong national defense. We're going to unleash American energy, and we're going to make sure that taxpayers get to keep more of their hard-earned dollars," she explained.

In her role as a member of the Senate Banking Committee and Chair of the Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development, Senator Britt also discussed the recent passage of a bipartisan affordable housing package. The legislation, which passed unanimously out of committee, reflects ongoing efforts to address the housing needs of Americans across the country.

Senator Britt's appearance comes at a time of heightened debate over transparency, government accountability, and effective legislation, demonstrating her commitment to advocating for her constituents and pushing for solutions on the national stage.
