"Truth Rising" Documentary To Premiere On September 05th

"Truth Rising", a documentary produced by Focus On The Family in conjunction with The Colson Center is set to premiere globally online on September 05th. It is hosted by Os Guinness and John Stonestreet. Os Guiness is the great-great grandson of Arthur Guiness, the founder of the Guinness brewery that comes to the forefront in popular culture around St. Patrick's Day, as people often celebrate the Irish-themed day with a pint of Guinness.

However, despite his family's connection with the famed Irish brewery, Os Guinness feels a calling to encourage Americans "to change which revolution they will follow". For he feels a deep concern that in "just one generation America is squandering a heritage of freedom like no other". As when his family had to flee from China during the height of the Chinese Revolution, he survived while some of his siblings did not. To honor the fact that he survived, Mr. Guinness "is praying for the soul of America". As the way Guinness sees it, America "came to freedom through a revolution rooted in The Bible", however, now America is "following a revolution that is not rooted in The Bible".

The way Os Guinness explains it, the English and the American revolutions were rooted in The Bible which provided them with the insight that people abuse power. Hence, the development of concepts such as the "separation of powers" in the American system of government. So that not just one person can use their position of power for prurient ends. By contrast, The French Revolution was more rooted in utopian ideals, not Biblical ideals, which is why it led to such violence. For when the ideal meets with the disturbing reality, then violence results. Similarly, the subsequent Chinese revolution that Os Guinness experienced as a child, led to massive violence, as well.

The co-host of "Truth Rising" alongside Os Guinness is John Stonestreet who is the president of The Colson Center. An organization designed to equip Christians with "clarity, confidence, and courage" to face today's social movements. For as the documentary explains, "in a therapy culture it is hard to stand up and be countercultural". As "Truth Rising" encourages people to "Choose to see, Choose to believe, and Choose to act".

Other presenters in the "Truth Rising" documentary include John Anderson – a former member of the Australian Parliament, Ayaan Hirsi Ali – a former member of the Dutch Parliament, Jack Phillips – owner of the Masterpiece Cakeshop in Colorado that has been a focus of today's social movements, Seth Dillon – one of the founders of "The Babylon Bee" website that specializes in satire, and Chloe Cole – who speaks from personal experience about the harm that is caused by transitioning in adolescents, among others.

Luisa Reyes is a Tuscaloosa attorney, piano instructor, and vocalist.
