"Ensembles of the Past" Hits Social Media Milestone

One of the more popular social media pages for historical attire has hit a social media milestone as "Ensembles of the Past" celebrates reaching 10,000 followers just in time for the proprietor's birthday on August 16th. A company that features custom made historical clothing, wedding apparel, and historical flag reproductions from extant originals, it has garnered a large following on social media due to its photography that manages, in spite of modernity, to evoke the aura of the era of the clothing being featured. With the photographs often featuring the owner of the company, Sara Gonzalez - a former college professor of costume design, wearing her own hand sewn historical reproductions in their respective historical settings. With the photographer often being the mother of the proprietor, Veda Gonzalez.

Based out of Southwest Missouri, "Ensembles of the Past", also features historical clothing rentals with Sara Gonzalez specializing in historical reproductions from the mid-19 century and later. A fashion historian for over 18 years, Sara Gonzalez thrives on studying textiles, garments, and sewing methods based on primary research. With "Ensembles of the Past" also offering historical fabrics, kits, patterns, and sewing goods for those who wish to try their own hand at a needle and a thread.

Sara Gonzalez first began her historical sewing career at the age of twelve when she completed a 1770s era colonial dress all on her own. And, much to her delight, had the opportunity to wear her colonial era dress around Colonial Williamsburg that same summer. Since that time, Sara Gonzalez has had the opportunity to sew period attire for living historians, re-enactors, brides, dance enthusiasts, theaters, film companies, and museums across the country and throughout the world.

Some of the upcoming events for which "Ensembles of the Past" will have costume rentals and custom garments available upon prior reservation include the Jackson Civil War Muster in Michigan on August 22nd, 2025 and the Olde South Timeline Ball on August 30th, 2025 in Greenville, South Carolina.
