The Christian College Student Revival Movement that Began At Auburn University is the Subject of a New CBN Documentary

On September 12th, 2023, thousands of college students at Auburn University met in the Enville Arena to lift the name of Jesus in a worship setting that led to 200 students being baptized. This worship meeting on the plains, unbeknownst to them at the time, would lead to a revival movement among college students from Auburn University to Ohio State and throughout the entire USA. This revival movement organized by UniteUS is now the subject of a forthcoming CBN documentary entitled, "The Revival Generation: Gen Z Turning to Jesus".

For while young adults of the 2010s are often referred to as the "snowflake generation" by aged boomers who decry their proclivity for taking offence at things, Generation Z, which is comprised by those who were born between 1997 through 2012, is being noted for their renewed interest in Christianity. For the "Zoomers", as Generation Z is often referred to given the fact that they've grown up fully acclimated to all of the modern technology, value authenticity. Known for being "the loneliest generation", they also seek community. With many of the Generation Z finding that Christianity fulfills their need for purpose.

In fact, while after 30 years of growth, the "nones" or those who identify themselves as non-religious Americans, has reached a pause. Generation Z is a group of people who have seen and experienced the side of effects of divorce, broken homes, and the like, which is leading them to seek solace within the Church. And even The Wall Street Journal is reporting that sales of The Bible have spiked. With those sales being largely driven by first-time buyers.

This renewed interest in Christianity among Generation Z is not confined to the U.S. but also being noted in the United Kingdom. As a study of 13,000 adults in England and Wales found "that the Church is in a period of rapid growth, driven by young adults and in particular young men. Along with this, the Church demonstrates greater ethnic diversity than ever before. Both within and outside the Church, young adults are more spiritually engaged than any other living generation, with Bible reading and belief in God on the rise."

UniteUs in their revival movements across college campi throughout the USA focuses on three things: for non-believers to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel in a welcoming environment Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9; for believers to know and experience true freedom from sin and burdens on their hearts Galatians 5:1; and for students to find community and discipleship through connection to local ministries and the local church Ephesians 4:1-6. Founded by Tonya Prewett, the wife of Chad Prewett – the assistant coach of Auburn's basketball team, UniteUS grew out of her prayers for her daughter, Madison Prewett Trout, who was also a contestant on the popular television reality show, "The Bachelor". With their story being heavily featured in "The Revival Generation" documentary directed by Laura Hand.

The premier of "The Revival Generation: Gen Z Turning to Jesus" documentary is slated for Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 in the Concert Hall of The Kennedy Center. The CBN produced documentary will also be made available on the next day via streaming and DVD.
