Williams Granite Memorial Owners were indicted for theft of property
August 22, 2025 - MONTGOMERY, AL - Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the indictment of two individuals in a case involving multiple property crimes occurring in Thomasville, Alabama. Anthony Kirven Williams and Teresa Cobb Williams, of Linden, were arrested and booked into the Clarke County Jail on August 20. They each have a bond set at $450,000.
The alleged crimes occurred in Clarke County and were investigated by the Thomasville Police Department and the Attorney General's Consumer Interest Division. Attorney General Marshall's Consumer Interest Division presented evidence to the Clarke County Grand Jury, resulting in the indictments. Anthony and Teresa Williams are charged with 10 counts of theft of property in the first degree, 2 counts of theft of property in the second degree, 9 counts of theft of property in the third degree, and 5 counts of theft of property in the fourth degree.
If convicted of the first-degree theft charges, which are class B felonies, the defendants could each face a statutory penalty of 2 to 20 years and a maximum fine of $30,000 for each count. If convicted of the second-degree theft charges, which are class C felonies, the defendants each face a statutory penalty of one year and one day up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $15,000. If convicted of the third-degree theft charges, which are class D felonies, the defendants each face a statutory penalty of one to 5 years and a maximum fine of $7,500. If convicted of the fourth-degree theft charges, which are class A misdemeanors, the defendants each face a statutory penalty of up to one year and a maximum fine of $6,000.
