Freedom Caucus Leaders Rally Behind Barry Moore's Senate Bid in Alabama

August 29, 2025 - ENTERPRISE, AL. - In a show of conservative solidarity, prominent members of the House Freedom Caucus descended on Alabama this weekend to endorse and energize Rep. Barry Moore's campaign for the U.S. Senate. The gathering, held in Moore's hometown of Enterprise, drew grassroots activists, local officials, and national figures aligned with the MAGA wing of the Republican Party.

Moore, a three-term congressman and longtime Freedom Caucus member, is seeking to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Tommy Tuberville, who announced earlier this year that he will run for governor in 2026. The open seat has sparked a competitive GOP primary, but Moore's campaign is quickly gaining momentum thanks to his deep ties to the conservative movement and early support from former President Donald Trump.

A Homegrown Conservative

Barry Moore's political roots run deep in Alabama. A former state legislator and small business owner, Moore was the first elected official in the country to endorse Trump's 2016 presidential bid-a move that cemented his reputation as a MAGA loyalist. Since entering Congress in 2020, he has maintained a 95% voting record with Heritage Action for America and has consistently championed issues such as border security, pro-life protections, and defunding federal overreach.

"I'm not a RINO, and I'm sure not one of those MAGA pretenders suddenly coming to be conservative," Moore said in a campaign video. "I'm running for Senate because the people of Alabama deserve a Trump conservative and a working man who will defend their freedoms".

Freedom Caucus Firepower

Among the dignitaries who joined Moore in Alabama were Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), all influential members of the Freedom Caucus. Their presence underscored Moore's standing within the group and signaled a national push to consolidate support around his candidacy.

"Barry Moore is the real deal," Jordan told the crowd. "He's been fighting for conservative values since before it was fashionable. Alabama has a chance to send a warrior to the Senate, and we're here to make sure that happens."

The event featured speeches, roundtable discussions, and a town hall-style Q&A, where Moore fielded questions on federal spending, immigration, and education policy. He reiterated his commitment to cutting federal debt, defending constitutional rights, and advancing the America First agenda.

A Defining Race for Alabama Republicans

Moore's campaign is shaping up to be a litmus test for the future of the Republican Party in Alabama. With Attorney General Steve Marshall and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson also in the race, the GOP primary will likely pit establishment conservatives against populist insurgents.

The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), a national organization known for backing constitutional conservatives, has already endorsed Moore, calling him a "fighting, proven conservative" and warning that "special interests will flood Alabama with their corporate millions".

Moore's grassroots appeal was on full display during the Freedom Caucus event, where attendees waved "Barry for Senate" signs and chanted "Drain the Swamp" between speeches. His campaign has leaned heavily on his biography-Coffee County roots, Army National Guard service, and a degree in agriculture from Auburn University-to contrast his working-class background with Washington's political elite.

Trump Ties and Policy Vision

Moore's platform centers on fiscal restraint, border enforcement, and cultural conservatism. He has pledged to push for $1.5 trillion in federal spending cuts over the next decade and to fight what he calls "radical left indoctrination" in schools.

"I'm not going to Washington to play nice," Moore said. "I'm going to fight for Alabama families, for our farmers, for our veterans, and for our values."

His early endorsement by Trump and alignment with the Freedom Caucus give him a distinct edge among voters who remain loyal to the former president's vision. Moore has also expressed support for changing Senate rules to bypass Democratic filibusters and expedite confirmations of conservative nominees.

Looking Ahead

With the GOP primary set for May 2026, Moore's campaign is expected to ramp up its outreach across the state, with additional Freedom Caucus members planning visits in the coming months. His team is banking on grassroots energy and national conservative backing to carry him through a crowded field.

"This race isn't just about one seat," Moore said. "It's about the soul of the Republican Party and the future of our country."

Moore faces stiff opposition in the Republican primary from AG Steve Marshall, businessman Rodney Walker, and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson.
