September 6, 2025 – ANNAPOLIS, MD. - Navy took care of business last Saturday, defeating UAB 38 to 24 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
UAB hung in there and went toe to toe with Navy in the first half – trailing just 26 to 24 at halftime; but the Midshipmen shut out the Blazers in the second half and forced three turnovers, pulling away in what had been a high-scoring first half.
The final score was Navy 38 to UAB 24. Navy improves to a 2 and 0 record. UAB falls to 1 and 1 and 0 and 1 in the All American Conference.

Navy's triple-option attack overwhelmed UAB's defense, especially in the second half. The Blazers struggled to contain the run. Navy finished the game with a jaw dropping 295 yards rushing. UAB's offense couldn't capitalize on their early offensive success and the turnovers were backbreaking. Navy's defense stiffened in the second half and their offense controlled the clock to seal the win.
"We're making big strides, but we've got to clean up the turnovers," said UAB head Coach Trent Dilfer. "You can't give a team like Navy extra possessions and expect to win."
Dilfer is 8 and 18 in his three year career at UAB.
