September 13, 2025 – TUSCALOOSA, AL – Last week Alabama took out their frustrations from the disappointing 14 point loss to Florida State on a hapless Louisiana Monroe squad. Everyone wanted to see how the number 19 ranked Alabama would look this week when it stepped up in class to face Big 10 stalwart Wisconsin. There really wasn't much difference – Alabama completely dominated the Badgers at Bryant-Denny Stadium in front of a sellout crowd.
Alabama Quarterback Ty Simpson was near-flawless at quarterback, completing 24 of 29 passes for 382 yards and 4 touchdowns. He became just the second Alabama QB (after Mac Jones in 2020) to throw 3+ TDs and complete 80%+ of passes in back-to-back games.
Simpson looked much more poised in the last two games than he did in the first start of his career back in August at Florida State.
"He's slowed the game down," said Coach Kalen DeBoer after the game. "It isn't a talent question. He's risen to the occasion... We like where his head's at."
Star wide receiver Ryan Williams returned after a concussion in the FSU game. He exploded with 5 catches for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. This included a 75-yard trick play TD on the first snap of the second half that broke the back of the Wisconsin effort.
Tide leading receiver Germie Bernard also had two scores - one receiving and one rushing. Bernard has 13 catches for 261 yards thus far on the season.
Isaiah Horton contributed 3 catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Alabama's defense was relentless, holding Wisconsin to just 209 total yards, forcing 2 interceptions (both by Bray Hubbard) and recording 4 sacks.
Bama led 21 to 0 at halftime.
Wisconsin's lone offensive highlight came from backup QB Danny O'Neil, who threw for 117 yards and a 41-yard TD to Jayden Ballard. Vinny Anthony II also returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown making the game appear closer than it actually was.
"We just want to be that team that's unbreakable no matter what situation we're in," DeBoer said comparing that mindset to a diamond. "You can't really break a diamond unless you put a lot of pressure to it.
Alabama heads into a bye week before opening SEC play against No. 6 Georgia. With Texas looking suspect, Georgia edging out Tennessee on Saturday, and lingering questions about LSU despite Saturday's win over a floundering Florida team the winner of the Alabama at Georgia contest would be the early frontrunner to go to the SEC Championship game.
