September 19, 2025 - CULLMAN COUNTY, AL. - The Alabama Farmers Federation has announced its endorsement of Sen. Garlan Gudger for Alabama Senate District 4 which covers Cullman, Marion and Winston counties.
"Sen. Gudger is a conservative leader in the Alabama Senate," said Lee Haynes, president of the Cullman County Farmers Federation. "He has worked hard to see that our interests are met in Montgomery and at home."
"Sen. Gudger is an outstanding public servant and one we can depend on to watch over farming issues in the Alabama Senate," said Kenneth Real, Marion County Farmers Federation president. "He is accessible and a true leader who can best represent our needs in the Legislature."
"Sen. Gudger is a conservative voice for farmers in this area, and we need his continued support," said Darrell Lee, Winston County Farmers Federation president. "We know he will continue his outstanding leadership as Senate pro tem and represent District 4 well in Montgomery."
Gudger graduated from Cullman High School and received his B.S. in building science with a minor in business from Auburn University. He is the second-generation owner of Southern Accents Architectural Antiques, one of the nation's Top 5 architectural salvage companies.
Prior to being elected to the Alabama Senate in 2018, Gudger was the youngest member in history to be elected to the Cullman City Council, where he served 14 years. Ten of those years were as president.
In 2024, upon the retirement of Sen. Greg Reed of Jasper, Gudger's fellow senators elected him president pro tempore of the Alabama Senate, a leadership position he holds today.
"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Farmers Federation," said Gudger. "Farmers have a strong work ethic and the same conservative values I have, so we'll work well together to ensure agriculture is well represented in the Alabama Senate."
Gudger and his wife, Heather, have two sons. They attend Daystar Church.
The Alabama Farmers Federation is the state's largest farm organization with more than 365,000 member families. It uses a true grassroots approach to select candidates, relying on Alabama FarmPAC endorsements from county Farmers Federation boards of directors for local elections.
