"Setting You Apart"

Did you know that God isn’t setting you aside? No! God is actually setting you apart.

I was recently reading about Joseph from the Old Testament and I got to thinking…I'm sure Joseph felt like that God was setting him aside and forgetting about him.

Afterall, his brothers betrayed him and threw him into a pit. Where was God?

And then he was betrayed and thrown into a prison. Where was God?

Seemed like everybody was turning their back on it. Seemed like God had set him aside. Seemed like God was even forgot about him.

But even though Joseph couldn't see it, God was with him in the pit. And even though Joseph couldn't see God, God was with him in the prison. You see, even though it felt like that God and everyone else was setting him aside and forgetting about him, God was setting him apart.

Genesis 50:20 reminds us, “He looks at his brothers and betrayed him. He said you meant it for bad, but God meant it for good.”

Friend, I don't know what you're facing, but you need to take your eyes off the pit. You need to take your eyes off the prison and begin to realize that God is not forgetting you. He's not setting you aside. God is setting you apart for such a time as this. My friend, you hang in there. You don't give up because God is in the midst and God has a plan for you.
