October 13, 2025 - HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Boeing has been awarded a series of multiyear contracts totaling approximately $2.7 billion to significantly expand production of Patriot Advanced Capability‑3 (PAC‑3) seekers, the company announced on October 14, 2025. The contracts, awarded in collaboration with prime contractor Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army, will support the delivery of more than 3,000 seekers at an accelerated pace of up to 750 units annually through the end of the decade.
The PAC‑3 seeker is a critical component of the Patriot missile defense system, enabling interceptors to detect, track, and neutralize a wide range of airborne threats, including hypersonic weapons, hostile aircraft, and ballistic and cruise missiles. As global conflicts intensify and the threat landscape evolves-particularly in regions such as Ukraine, the Middle East, and the Indo‑Pacific-demand for PAC‑3 interceptors has surged.
Jim Bryan, executive director of Boeing Integrated Air & Missile Defense, emphasized the strategic importance of the new contracts. "Our team has never been better positioned to answer the nation's call for greater air and missile defense," Bryan said. "These multiyear awards recognize the progress we've made and will allow us to meet growing global demand for the PAC‑3 seeker."
Boeing's Huntsville, Alabama facility has been the cornerstone of PAC‑3 seeker production since 2000, delivering more than 6,000 units to date. The company's recent investments in production line modernization, supplier partnerships, and a 35,000-square-foot factory expansion have enabled record-setting output. In 2025 alone, Boeing is on track to deliver between 650 and 700 seekers-its highest annual total yet.
The PAC‑3 seeker's advanced capabilities are essential to the continued effectiveness of the Patriot system, which is relied upon by 17 countries, including the United States, to protect military personnel, civilians, and critical infrastructure. The new contracts will ensure that Boeing can meet the growing needs of both domestic and international defense partners.
This production ramp-up also reflects Boeing's broader commitment to national security and global defense readiness. As one of the world's leading aerospace companies and the top U.S. exporter, Boeing continues to play a pivotal role in developing and delivering cutting-edge defense technologies. The company's global workforce and supplier network drive innovation and economic growth while upholding core values of safety, quality, and integrity.
With these new contracts in place, Boeing is poised to remain a key player in missile defense for years to come, reinforcing its role in safeguarding global stability in an increasingly complex security environment.
