Martin Reaches New Social Media Milestone

October 28, 2025 – ENTERPRISE, AL - Chad "Chig" Martin a Democratic candidate for Governor of Alabama reached a social media milestone by obtaining over 34,000 members on Facebook making him the largest social media on this platform among other active Democratic candidates.

"This is a very important indicator for the campaign," Martin said in a statement. "As most know, Democratic candidates do not receive the donations that the Republicans do and Facebook is a very important part of the campaigning process. It helps us target Alabama voters and get our message out to them consistently."

"Our Citizens Driven Movement which makes up the supporters of the campaign has taken ownership and solely responsible the success," said Martin.

Martin has been on a two month tour of the state ranging from Foley on the Gulf Coast to Homewood in the Birmingham/ Hoover metroplex, to Tuscaloosa in West Alabama, to Montgomery in the River Region, to Cullman in North Central Alabama, to Tuscumbia in the Shoals region, to the booming City of Huntsville in North Alabama, to Dothan in the Wiregrass and Gadsden in Northeast Alabama. Martin's message has been about economic development, passage of the lottery, expansion of Medicaid and prison reform.

Chad "Chig" Martin is a former college football player at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He owns several Dothan/Enterprise area businesses, including a mobile home park, an aircraft supply company, a hat store, and a hemp store. His hemp business was negatively impacted by the passage of HB445 which outlawed smokable cannabinoids derived from hemp. Martin is also a country music singer.

Martin faces a crowded Democratic primary field that includes 2022 Democratic nominee retired educator Yolanda Flowers and Florence Pastor Rev. Will Boyd.

The Democratic primary is May 19, 2026.
