Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton Endorses Katherine Robertson for Attorney General

BIRMINGHAM, AL - In a significant boost to her campaign, Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton (R) has officially endorsed Katherine Robertson in her bid to become Alabama's next Attorney General. Sheriff Horton praised Robertson's leadership, legal expertise, and unwavering commitment to Alabama values as key reasons for his support.

"I am proud to endorse Katherine Robertson for Attorney General," Horton said. "Katherine has proven time and again that she is willing to fight for a criminal justice system that reflects Alabama's values. She has been the tip of the spear on some of the most pressing public safety issues facing our state over the last decade. Katherine will make an excellent Attorney General."

Robertson currently serves as chief counsel in the Attorney General's Office, where she has played a pivotal role in tackling organized crime, dismantling trafficking networks, defending Second Amendment rights, and protecting families from radical agendas. Her work has consistently aligned with President Trump's America-first, law-and-order platform-an approach that resonates deeply with many Alabama voters.

"These aren't just campaign endorsements-they're endorsements from leaders who I've stood shoulder-to-shoulder within the fight against those who break our laws and threaten our communities," Robertson said in response to Horton's endorsement. "Having the support of a seasoned law enforcement leader like Sheriff Horton is an honor, and I'm thankful to have him in our corner!"

Sheriff Horton's endorsement adds to a growing wave of support for Robertson's campaign. In recent weeks, she has secured backing from the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA), and a coalition of county sheriffs and police chiefs from across the state.

With momentum building and endorsements stacking up, Robertson's candidacy is gaining traction as she positions herself as a tough, principled leader ready to take on the challenges facing Alabama's justice system.

Incumbent Attorney General Steve Marshall is running for U.S. Senate.

Robertson faces Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey and former Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell in the Republican Primary.

The Republican Primary is May 19, 2026.
