Nicole Jones Wadsworth Qualifies for Lieutenant Governor on First Day of Republican Qualifying

January 5, 2026 - HOOVER, Ala. - Nicole Jones Wadsworth officially qualified this morning at the Alabama Republican Party headquarters in Hoover as a candidate for lieutenant governor, filing on the first day of qualifying, January 5, 2026.

Businessperson Nicole Jones Wadsworth said from day one, her campaign has been focused on a policy-oriented, results-driven agenda to Build a Better Alabama: industry recruitment and retention, workforce development, statewide infrastructure improvements, rural healthcare, and public safety. Dr. Nicole Jones Wadsworth said, "Everything I am advocating for, I have done as a member of the private sector through my company, on a board or committee, or as an individual."

"Alabama's future depends on smart policies that facilitate an environment for companies to create jobs as well as partnerships between industry and education to strengthen our workforce. I want to ensure every region of our state has the infrastructure and services needed to compete – nationally and globally," Nicole Jones Wadsworth said. "As a business owner and as someone who represents businesses every day, I know what it takes to attract and retain industry, invest in our people, and protect our communities."

Before announcing her candidacy, Nicole Jones Wadsworth traveled extensively across the state to understand local needs. Nicole has served on numerous boards and committees in the areas of business, philanthropy, and Republican causes. "I put in the work by visiting all 67 counties over 25 times on my own dime before asking for a vote. As lieutenant governor I will work diligently and tirelessly for the people of Alabama. No career politics or political games necessary."
