All-Star Salute to '90s Country Adds Powerhouse Performers to February TV Special

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The upcoming television special An All-Star Salute to '90s Country has just expanded its already star-studded lineup, adding a dozen more legendary artists to the bill for its February 5 taping at The Propst Arena in the Von Braun Center. With fewer than 400 pairs of tickets remaining, fans are racing to secure seats for what promises to be a nostalgic celebration of one of country music's most beloved decades.

Newly announced performers include Jamey Johnson, Aaron Lewis, Aaron Tippin, Michael Ray, Lee Greenwood, Carlene Carter, The Forester Sisters, McBride & The Ride, Ken Mellons, Janie Fricke, T. Graham Brown, and Eric Blankenship. These additions bring even more depth to a show already packed with original hitmakers performing the songs that defined the '90s country era.

"This show is going to be one that is talked about for years to come," said executive producer Frank Matassa of LMA Productions, Inc. "Getting so many artists together to sing their hits that everyone will remember is very exciting. The songs, the artists, the memories, and the final television show is going to be something very special for the television audience."

The special is the fourth installment in a series of televised tributes to country music legends and eras, following the Emmy-nominated An All-Star Salute to Lee Greenwood, the Emmy-winning Still Playin' Possum: Music and Memories of George Jones, and Songs and Stories of Dean Dillon, which is currently being shopped for broadcast.

Throwback Moments Highlight '80s Icons

While the spotlight remains on the '90s, producers have added a few "throwback moments" to honor standout artists from the 1980s. These segments will feature:

Lee Greenwood, CMA Male Vocalist of the Year in 1983 and 1984, performing his Grammy-winning hit "I.O.U."

Janie Fricke, CMA Female Vocalist of the Year in 1982 and 1983, singing her chart-topping ballad "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy."

The Forester Sisters, ACM Top Vocal Group of 1987, reuniting to perform "I Fell In Love Again Last Night"-their first performance together in Alabama in over three decades.

These moments will serve as poignant reminders of the continuity and evolution of country music across generations.

Honoring the Legends

Though not known for '90s hits, Jamey Johnson and Aaron Lewis will pay tribute to two of country music's most enduring icons. Johnson will honor the late George Jones, while Lewis will salute Waylon Jennings-both of whom had charting songs during the '90s. Michael Ray will also perform in tribute to a late artist whose name will be revealed during the show.

Eric Blankenship is set to kick off the evening's festivities with a pre-show performance beginning at 6:40 p.m. local time.
