UAH to host fifth annual Engineering Showcase during Engineers Week

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (FEB. 19, 2026) – The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), a part of The University of Alabama System, is hosting its fifth annual Engineering Showcase as the signature event of Engineers Week 2026, Feb. 22 – 28. Held Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 5 - 7 p.m. in Room 112 of the Student Services Building on the UAH campus, the 2026 Showcase serves as the highlight of the week.

Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, Engineers Week – also known as E-Week – is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.

UAH's weeklong celebration features a variety of events, including a LEGO Design and Build Competition, Art Night and the annual "Take a Prof to Lunch" series.

At the showcase, engineering senior design students, undergraduate researchers and engineering student organizations will present their technical skills, creativity and commitment to innovation and teamwork through project displays and interactive demonstrations. Buffet refreshments and soft drinks are provided.

"In 2026, we will feature over 320 students, 35 senior design projects, 18 engineering student organizations and 16 undergraduate research teams," says Dr. Jennifer English, UAH associate dean of Undergraduate Affairs. "At the Engineering Showcase, you won't just see projects – you will see ideas engineered into reality. The event is a celebration of student achievement and ingenuity.

"Guests will see projects that reflect months of design, testing and refinement, illustrating the skills and professionalism our students bring to engineering practice. UAH faculty and staff enable our students to be the very best, and I am grateful for their efforts in supporting our engineering students. The celebration will conclude with a recap of highlights from the past year that demonstrate how the College of Engineering and UAH research centers continue to positively impact the Huntsville community, the state of Alabama and beyond.
