House Agriculture Chairman GT Thompson Endorses Barry Moore for U.S. Senate

February 17, 2026 - Enterprise, AL - House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson (R‑PA) has officially endorsed Congressman Barry Moore in Alabama's U.S. Senate race, adding another influential national conservative voice to Moore's growing list of supporters.

Thompson, who leads one of the most consequential committees for rural America, praised Moore as a dependable ally for farmers and a consistent defender of agricultural interests.

"Barry Moore is a proven conservative and a reliable champion for America's farmers," Thompson said. "He has defended agriculture in the House, pushed back against federal overreach, and understands that family farms are the backbone of rural Alabama. Agriculture will have no greater friend than Senator Barry Moore."

Moore welcomed the endorsement, tying it to his broader message that Alabama agriculture needs a stronger voice in Washington.

"I'm honored to earn Chairman Thompson's endorsement," Moore said. "Like President Trump, he understands that strong agriculture policy starts with farmers, not federal bureaucrats. Agriculture is Alabama's largest industry, and as Senator, I'll work with Chairman Thompson to protect family farms and ensure Alabama producers have a real voice in Washington."

Thompson's Background in Agriculture

First elected to Congress in 2009, Thompson has chaired the House Agriculture Committee since 2023. A descendant of a long line of dairy farmers, he has long emphasized the importance of rural communities and agricultural stability. Outside of Congress, he has served more than 25 years as a volunteer firefighter in Howard Township, Pennsylvania.

About Barry Moore

Barry Moore was born and raised in Coffee County and has built his public life around faith, family, military service, and small‑business ownership. Elected to Congress in 2020, Moore is a member of the House Freedom Caucus. He has been rated the most conservative member of Alabama's delegation by CPAC and the state's most effective legislator by the Center for Legislative Excellence.
