Red, White & Bulls: America 250 Alabama Military Appreciation Night Set to Bring Patriotic Energy to Pelham

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Birmingham Bulls are teaming up with America 250 Alabama, American Village, and the City of Pelham to deliver a powerful evening of patriotism, community, and hockey on Saturday, March 21, as the Pelham Civic Complex hosts Red, White & Bulls: America 250 Alabama Military Appreciation Night.

The celebration is designed to honor Alabama's veterans, spotlight military families, and bring the community together ahead of America's 250th anniversary in 2026. With a blend of living history, family activities, and high‑energy hockey, the event is shaping up to be one of the most meaningful game nights of the Bulls' season.

A Salute to Service on the Plaza

From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., the plaza outside the Pelham Civic Complex will transform into a patriotic festival atmosphere. The pregame "Salute to Service" celebration will feature:

• Opportunities to honor veterans and recognize their service

• Patriotic children's activities, offering hands‑on ways for young fans to learn and participate

• Living history elements, connecting Alabama families to the nation's founding and military heritage

• Community organizations sharing resources and stories

• Special appearances by Miss Alabama and Toro, the beloved Birmingham Bulls mascot

• A live broadcast from 93.3 The River, adding music, energy, and hometown spirit to the festivities

The event is intentionally family‑friendly, giving parents, kids, veterans, and hockey fans a chance to gather in a shared space of gratitude and celebration.

Game Night Energy Inside the Arena

After the outdoor festivities wrap up, fans will head inside as doors open at 6:00 p.m. The Bulls will take the ice against the Pensacola Ice Flyers, a rivalry matchup that always brings intensity and a packed house.

The 7:00 p.m. puck drop will cap off a full evening that blends Alabama's deep respect for military service with the fast‑paced excitement of Southern Professional Hockey League action.

Honoring Service, Celebrating Community

America 250 Alabama's partnership with the Bulls and local organizations reflects a broader statewide effort to commemorate the nation's upcoming semiquincentennial. Events like Red, White & Bulls are designed to highlight Alabama's role in American history while celebrating the people-especially veterans-who continue to shape the state's story.

For Pelham, Montevallo, and the surrounding communities, the night offers something rare: a chance to honor service, enjoy fellowship, and rally behind a hometown team all at once.

As the Bulls and Ice Flyers face off, the spirit of appreciation and unity will be just as strong as the action on the ice.
