Jared Hudson's "Alabama First" Campaign for U.S. Senate

With polls consistently showing the seventh-generation Alabamian through his mother's side of the family, Jared Hudson, in a much closer than expected race against Barry Moore and Steve Marshall in his campaign for Tommy Tuberville's soon to be vacated U.S. Senate seat, Hudson is campaigning hard throughout the State of Alabama on his "Alabama First" tour. For the Alabama Republican Party Primary, which will largely determine who wins the senate seat in the general election in November, is less than a month away on May 19th, 2026. And the former U.S. Navy Seal, an elite special operations force that specializes in high-risk missions across the sea, air, and land, is eager for Alabama voters to elect him as a "Warrior" to "Washington".

When U.S. Representative Barry Moore received President Donald Trump's endorsement for the U.S. Senate in January, many political analysts assumed that would make Representative Barry Moore a shoo in for the coveted position. However, perhaps due to his lack of a noticeable ground campaign, the Barry Moore campaign has not fully capitalized on receiving such a prized endorsement in a heavily Trump-supporting state. A detail which has made the Alabama Attorney General, Steve Marshall, a very viable candidate for the U.S. Senate despite not obtaining the Trump endorsement. With polls consistently showing Marshall in a very close race against Barry Moore for the U.S. Senate race in the Republican Primary, as well.

While Jared Hudson has stated that, " . . . the only poll that matters is May 19th", the fact that the polling does show him in such a close race against candidates who are names throughout the state, has garnered interest in his campaign. According to his LinkedIn page, Hudson earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Phoenix and his MBA from Liberty University – the same college where his mother and father met during their collegiate days. His company, "the Shooting Institute" states on its website that it is, "your destination for excellence and expertise in tactical training, catering not only to law enforcement, NGOs, Military, DoD and civilians but also providing comprehensive security solutions for businesses, schools, churches, and events."

Jared Hudson is also the CEO of a 501( c ) 3 nonprofit, "Covenant Rescue Group", that focuses on combatting human trafficking. With the website for Covenant Rescue Group referring to human trafficking and child exploitation as "one of the darkest evils our world has ever known." Jared Hudson is married to his wife, Lauren, and they have three daughters.

Jared Hudson previously ran for Jefferson County Sheriff in 2022. With the incumbent, Mark Pettway, winning the election with 52.10% of the votes. At present, the polls for the Republican race for the U.S. Senate seat are showing U.S. Rep. Barry Moore at 28%, Attorney General Steven Marshall at 27%, and Jared Hudson at 24% of the vote. Other Republican candidates for the same seat include Seth Burton, Dale Shelton Deas Jr., and Rodney Walker. Morgan Murphy has withdrawn from the race, but his name will still appear on the ballot.
