Libertarians to Decide New Leadership at National Convention May 21-25th

April 27, 2026 - Grand Rapids, MI - The 2026 Libertarian National Convention, "Freedom Calls," taking place in Grand Rapids Michigan May 21-25th, 2026, has confirmed all of its keynote speakers, with an intentional focus on those who can bring perspective and advice on making an immediate impact on the state of America. Additionally, the convention will host an important election to decide the leadership for the Libertarian National Party, with a new Chair to be selected.

Current Chair Steven Nekhaila, who was selected to operate on an interim basis after replacing former Chair Angela McArdle, will not be seeking reelection. Several candidates are running for the chairmanship, which will be decided on (DAY?) of the National Convention.

"In a time when trust in institutions is at an all-time low, when poll after poll shows Americans want a third party, the Libertarian Party stands as the alternative to the duopoly. The convention stands as the cultural and political nexus of the libertarian movement. I will not be running for reelection as Chair, which means delegates will be electing a new leadership team in the most pivotal time in modern party history."
