Dean Odle endorses Terri LaPoint for Congress

April 12, 2026 – OPELIKA, Ala. – Controversial pastor and schoolmaster Dean Odle has endorsed Terri LaPoint in the Republican primary in Alabama Congressional District 3.

"I give my wholehearted endorsement to Terri LaPoint for U.S. Congress District 3 in the Republican Primary on May 19, 2026," LaPoint said in a statement. "I have been able to get to know Terri since 2020 and her heart to bless and protect the children and families of Alabama is unmatched. She has been in the fight against corruption in child protective services and she has taken that fight to Washington DC on numerous occasions. Terri is a needed breath of fresh air for Alabama Congressional District 3. Representative Mike Rogers has been there too long and done too many embarrassing things. It's time for a change in our district. I will be voting for Terri LaPoint for Congress on May 19, 2026."

Terri LaPoint thanked Odle for his endorsement.

"What an incredible honor to receive the endorsement of Dean Odle!" LaPoint said.

LaPoint is challenging incumbent Congressman Mike Rogers (R-Saks) who has represented CD3 since 2002. LaPoint – who lives in St. Clair County – is an investigative reporter, published author, and grassroots Republican activist for children's issues.

Odle was a 2022 candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor, but lost to incumbent Governor Kay Ivey (R) in the primary. Odle qualified to run for Lieutenant Governor in this election cycle; but was denied ballot access by the Alabama Republican Party Steering Committee in response to Odle's failed 2022 write-in campaign after he lost the primary. Odle has been heavily scrutinized over his stance on astronomy – claiming that the Earth is flat and that NASA has been lying to us for fifty years about the Moon mission.

Rogers is the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

The Republican primary is on May 19.
