Home Builders Association of Alabama Endorses Attorney General Steve Marshall for U.S. Senate

Montgomery, Ala. - The Home Builders Association of Alabama (HBAA), one of the state's most influential business and trade organizations, has formally endorsed Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall in his campaign for the United States Senate.

The association - representing more than 7,500 members across the state's residential construction industry - cited Marshall's record on economic growth, private property rights, and regulatory reform as the driving factors behind its endorsement.

HBAA 1st Vice President Jim Mathews said the organization trusts Marshall to continue pushing back against federal overreach that affects housing affordability and construction costs.

"Steve Marshall understands what it takes for a family to afford a new or remodeled home," Mathews said. "He took EPA and other federal agencies to task when they engaged in big‑government regulatory overreach. Steve Marshall will work just as hard in D.C. to reduce regulatory abuse and ensure that the next generation can realize the American dream of homeownership."

Marshall, who has served as Alabama's Attorney General since 2017, thanked the association and emphasized the importance of the homebuilding sector to the state's economy.

"I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the Home Builders Association of Alabama," Marshall said. "The homebuilding industry is one of the most vital components of our state's economy and plays a critical role in providing quality, affordable housing for Alabama families. As your next United States Senator, I will work tirelessly in Washington, just as I have as Alabama's Attorney General, to cut red tape, lower costs, and deliver the pro‑growth policies our builders and working Alabama families deserve."

The endorsement adds another major business‑sector backing to Marshall's Senate bid, underscoring the homebuilding industry's interest in federal regulatory policy, housing affordability, and economic development.
