Barry Moore campaigns in Vestavia Hills

June 13, 2026 – VESTAVIA Hills – Congressman Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) spoke to the Mid Alabama Republican Club (MARC). Moore is seeking election to the U.S. Senate in the June 16 Republican primary.

"I built my garbage company from the ground up," Moore said.

He had been recruited by local Republicans to run for office but declined due to the demands of his business.

"When President (Barak) Obama said we are no longer a Christian nation, I told my wife, Heather, that if they asked again I would step up."

Moore was elected to the State Legislature in 2010 representing his hometown of Enterprise and Coffee County. Moore was part of the first Republican controlled Legislature in Alabama after 135 years of uninterrupted Democratic control.

"I was the most conservative state legislator," in his eight years in the Alabama House according to Heritage Action Moore said.

Moore ran for Congress in 2018 – losing to incumbent Congresswoman Martha Roby (R-Montgomery) in the GOP primary.

(In 2015) "At Ladd Peoples Stadium I became the first elected official in the United States to endorse Donald Trump for President. He had less than a one percent chance of winning. There were 16 other candidates running in the Republican primary and there was no way that he was going to beat Hillary Clinton."

"I went to Washington in 2020," remembered Moore. He was going in as Trump was leaving and then Joe Biden (D) came in.

"We were constantly fighting," to try to block radical items on the Biden agenda said Moore. "Look at my record. In a Republican primary they are going to say they are pro Trump and conservative. President Trump has seen my scores. There are only 40 of us in Washington who are in the Freedom Caucus."

"We have been on team Trump for a long time but we also have a record that we are proud of," said Moore. "I am not one of those guys who make it hard for him to do his job. There are literally guys in our party who will hold up the America First agenda for some pet project."

When liberals went after Alabama's Congressional districts, "They drew the only House Freedom Caucus out of his district."

Even though Moore and Coffee County were draw out of Moore's Second Congressional District, he ran for re-election anyway – this time against in the First Congressional District against incumbent Republican Jerry Carl (R-Mobile). Moore won the fiercely contested Republican primary.

"He sees that," Moore said explaining why he has President Trump's full endorsement.

"Heritage Action ranked all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and only 11 members had a perfect record. I was one of those 11," said Moore.

"We are going to be accessible as a U.S. Senator," said Moore promising to meet with constituents and promising that his staff will help them when they need assistance with a federal agency.

Moore finished first in the May 19 Republican primary – advancing to the Republican primary runoff where he faces former U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson on June 16.

The Mid Alabama Republican Club (MARC) meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center.
