Aderholt announces nearly $2 Million in FEMA Funding for Winston County and the City of Jasper

June 23, 2026 - WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Aderholt announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded almost $2 million in federal funding for hazard mitigation projects in Alabama's Fourth District.

These projects were authorized through the Fiscal Year 2026 Homeland Security and Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act and funded through FEMA's Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant program.

The mitigation projects in Alabama's Fourth District include:

$900,000 for Winston County to spend on a road and bridge restoration project

$893,000 for the City of Jasper's flood mitigation infrastructure project

"I am proud to announce almost $2 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for projects in Alabama's Fourth District that will allow our communities to take proactive steps before future disasters and reduce natural hazard risks," said Congressman Aderholt. "Through federal funding projects, we are working to effectively improve infrastructure and protect the people and properties in local areas."

Outside of the Fourth Congressional District FEMA has approved:

$1.2 for Atmore (Escambia County) to make storm drainage improvements

$2,6 million for the City of Birmingham to work on floodplain restoration and stormwater mitigation in Village Creek Stormwater Park

$2 million for Foley (Baldwin County) to fund an underground utilities project to reduce storm vulnerability

$2.5 million for the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children to install a generator project to ensure continuity of operations during disasters

$3 million for Livingston (Sumter County) to make storm drainage improvements

$4 million for the City of Montgomery's Washington Ferry Road Restoration project for infrastructure restoration and hazard mitigation
